Worked on cross-platform icon and packaging modernization for the xbmc/xbmc repository, focusing on macOS, iOS, and tvOS applications. Delivered integrated icon assets and improved packaging flows using CMake scripting, Python, and asset management techniques. For macOS, ensured the kodi.icns icon was reliably bundled and prioritized in the packaging process, reducing installation risk and maintaining visual consistency by synchronizing legacy and bundled icons. Updated installation scripts to read icons directly from the source tree. On tvOS, introduced layered icons with a streamlined generation pipeline, while iOS icons were refreshed from rounded to squared formats, enhancing compatibility and user experience.
April 2026. Cross-platform icon and packaging modernization for xbmc/xbmc. MacOS delivered integrated icon assets and packaging improvements, ensuring a bundled macOS icon (kodi.icns) is included reliably, with a packaging flow that prioritizes the bundled asset. Synchronization of legacy and bundled icons reduced visual drift, and an update to read icons from the source tree improved install reliability. tvOS introduced layered icons with a streamlined generation pipeline (layered icons and refactor to pure symbols). iOS icons were updated from rounded to squared format for better aesthetics and compatibility. These changes reduce packaging risk, deliver a consistent and polished user experience across platforms, and establish a scalable asset pipeline for future platform updates. Technologies demonstrated include CMake/Install.cmake packaging integration, Icon Composer asset workflows, macOS/iOS asset management, and tvOS asset catalog handling.
