During October 2025, Perry Fardella developed a dedicated file type iconography system for the strapi/strapi repository, focusing on improving visual differentiation of document types within the user interface. Leveraging React and TypeScript, Perry created new icon components for XLS, CSV, and ZIP files and centralized icon mapping logic to streamline icon management. This approach aligned with the existing design system, enhancing maintainability and simplifying future extensions to support additional file types. The work improved user experience by providing clear, consistent visual cues for document types and established a scalable foundation for ongoing front end development in JavaScript and TypeScript.
