Worked on the carbon-design-system/carbon repository to address a critical font rendering issue in June 2025. Focused on correcting SCSS handling for unicode-range and font-display by reverting a previous change that introduced incorrect quoting, which had affected visual consistency across browsers. Simplified the SCSS by removing unnecessary use of string.unquote and redundant string imports, improving maintainability and aligning with design-system standards. The work was isolated to font-related SCSS to minimize risk and facilitate future updates. Utilized CSS, SCSS, and front end development skills to ensure accurate font rendering and maintain a clean, manageable codebase for ongoing design system evolution.
