
Dmitry Filimonov developed foundational observability features across Grafana’s Pyroscope and profiles-drilldown repositories. In Pyroscope, he implemented experimental OTLP profiling data ingestion, defining new Protocol Buffers and handlers in Go to convert OTLP profile data into the internal storage format, enabling seamless integration with OTLP-compatible agents. For profiles-drilldown, Dmitry extended the Profiles Explorer with an o11yinsights extension point, wiring React-based components to display external observability insights directly within the profiling interface. His work established scalable patterns for future integrations, focusing on API integration, backend development, and frontend development, and addressed the need for streamlined, in-context observability workflows.
