Worked on the ROCm/aiter repository to enhance build stability by reducing reliance on external dependencies. Focused on local vendoring of buffer_ops and vector modules, replacing the previously used flydsl components. Consolidated import paths throughout the codebase to reference these new local implementations, streamlining module management. Introduced a gfx1250 cluster helper to address an invalid reference to gpu.compute_mcast_masks, ensuring compatibility with updated GPU architectures. Leveraged expertise in compiler infrastructure, GPU programming, and Python to implement these changes. The work resulted in a more robust and maintainable build process, with improved control over dependencies and fewer external wheel requirements.
