During January 2026, Piemfrot developed cs5535 internal audio support for the x86 legacy subtarget in the DragonBluep/openwrt repository. This work expanded hardware compatibility by enabling out-of-the-box audio functionality on older x86 devices, reducing the need for user workarounds. Piemfrot approached the task by aligning the patch with OpenWrt’s established subtarget conventions, ensuring maintainability and ease of integration. The implementation involved Linux kernel development and audio driver expertise, with Makefile used for build configuration. The delivered feature broadened device coverage for legacy systems and was prepared for review and testing, reflecting a focused and technically sound engineering contribution.
