Contributed to the open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib repository by delivering enhancements to ELB access log processing, focusing on expanding log records with additional ALB fields to improve monitoring fidelity. Applied Go and AWS expertise to strengthen the parsing logic, enabling robust handling of invalid ELB request fields and improving error management. Developed targeted unit tests to validate the new parsing functionality and ensure ongoing reliability. These improvements support better observability and troubleshooting for AWS ELB and ALB workloads, providing richer monitoring data and facilitating faster issue diagnosis in cloud environments. The work demonstrates a methodical approach to backend development and quality assurance.
