Piotr worked on expanding volume unit support within the home-assistant/core and home-assistant/frontend repositories by introducing MCF (1000 Cubic Feet) as an additional measurement option for energy data. This end-to-end enhancement required coordinated backend and frontend development, ensuring that MCF was consistently supported from the data model through to the user interface. Using Python and TypeScript, Piotr implemented API integrations and unit testing to maintain data fidelity and analytics accuracy. The work addressed unit conversion gaps, enabling more flexible and precise energy reporting. Over the month, Piotr delivered two features that broadened the system’s capabilities without introducing any regressions.

September 2025 highlights: End-to-end Volume Units Enhancement with MCF (1000 Cubic Feet) added to both core energy component and frontend, expanding data recording, analytics, and display capabilities. This cross-repo work reduces unit conversion gaps and improves data fidelity for energy metrics.
