Worked on enhancing the security and reliability of cryptographic provider access in the curl/curl repository, focusing on PKCS#11 integration. Addressed a bug where the detection of PKCS#11 provider availability was unreliable by ensuring the OpenSSL library context correctly loaded its configuration and used the appropriate flag to check provider status. This fix eliminated mis-detection issues and stabilized cryptographic provider access, reducing support overhead and improving the security posture of the codebase. The work demonstrated strong skills in C programming, cryptography, and OpenSSL integration, with a focus on production-level reliability and maintainability in a widely used open-source project.
