During April 2026, Pitzeglück enhanced the medusajs/medusa repository by implementing fixed-amount discount support for Buy-Get promotions, addressing a miscalculation that previously treated fixed discounts as percentages. Working primarily with TypeScript and Node.js, Pitzeglück refactored the promotion application logic to align with existing shipping-method and line-item conventions, improving consistency across modules. The update included expanded integration testing, with new tests verifying correct discount application in various scenarios and ensuring all compute-actions tests passed. This work increased the accuracy and predictability of promotional discounts for merchants, while reinforcing backend reliability and test coverage through careful backend development and QA practices.
