Over a two-month period, contributed to the SEMOSS/Semoss and SEMOSS/Monolith repositories by delivering two core backend features focused on security and observability. Developed advanced logging for SEMOSS/Semoss using Java and log4j2, introducing audit trails with a dedicated audit database, log stream separation, and confidential data masking to support compliance requirements. For SEMOSS/Monolith, upgraded the user authentication system by enabling multi-content-type support, robust JSON parsing error handling, and improved password validation and reset flows. Leveraged skills in Java, Python, and configuration management to enhance backend reliability, security, and user experience, with careful attention to deployment and maintainability.
October 2025 – SEMOSS/Monolith: Implemented a robust User Authentication System upgrade. Key features: support for JSON and URL-encoded bodies, improved JSON parsing error handling, reinforced password validation, and refactored password reset/change flows to boost security and UX. This work enhances security posture and client experience, with the change tracked in commit d1742d180e14b4a227ad1c563c5f3346a56a09f6 (1352 change password backend (#205)).
