Worked on stabilizing cross-compilation and improving build reliability for Apple toolchains within the tesseract-ocr/tesseract repository. Focused on resolving a critical issue where multi-architecture cross-compilation would fail due to missing CMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR initialization. Addressed this by aligning CMAKE_SYSTEM_PROCESSOR with CMAKE_OSX_ARCHITECTURES, ensuring correct architecture targeting for macOS builds. Utilized expertise in CMake, build system configuration, and cross-compilation to deliver a targeted bug fix, which was committed and documented for future maintainability. The work enhanced the robustness of the build process, particularly for developers targeting multiple Apple architectures, and contributed to a more reliable and predictable cross-platform development workflow.
