During December 2024, Pittle migrated Dockerfiles in the aws/credentials-fetcher repository to use AWS-owned ECR Ubuntu base images for both Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04. This work focused on containerization and DevOps practices, leveraging Dockerfile expertise to align build processes with AWS supply chain governance. By sourcing base images directly from AWS repositories, Pittle improved build security, reliability, and maintainability while reducing reliance on external sources. The migration was implemented through two well-documented commits, enhancing traceability. Although the scope was limited to a single feature, the work demonstrated careful attention to secure image sourcing and clear, maintainable engineering practices.
