Over four months, contributed to tech-by-design/polyglot-prime by building and optimizing backend data workflows focused on healthcare data validation and observability. Delivered features such as version-aware validation error tracking and robust HL7/FHIR ingestion pipelines, using SQL, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL to enhance error analytics and debugging. Refactored complex diagnostics queries for FHIR data, migrated logic from PL/pgSQL to SQL, and implemented targeted database index cleanups to improve performance and maintainability. Enhanced the OperationOutcome API with stronger validation and output corrections, while consolidating migration scripts and error logging. This work improved data quality, reduced latency, and strengthened system reliability for future scalability.
February 2026 — Tech-by-Design/polyglot-prime: Focused on database performance and reliability improvements to support the Nexus update. Implemented refactoring of database code, enhanced error logging, updated migration scripts, and indexing optimizations. These changes reduce migration risk, improve data handling efficiency, and strengthen observability and maintainability.

January 2026 focused on performance optimization for FHIR data workflows and strengthening the reliability of the OperationOutcome API. Key work included refactoring expensive FHIR diagnostics queries to SQL, adding partial indexes, and migrating logic from PL/pgSQL to SQL, yielding faster data retrieval and improved UI responsiveness for IG Publication Issues reports. In parallel, the OperationOutcome API gained stronger input validation, corrected JSON outputs, and guarded parameter checks, reducing downstream errors and improving integration stability. These changes reduce latency, improve data accuracy, and strengthen developer and operator confidence in core health-data services.
