Worked on enhancing the OpenShift upgrade CI/CD pipeline within the openshift/release repository, focusing on AWS IPI deployments. Leveraged AWS, OpenShift, and Infrastructure as Code principles, primarily using yaml, to automate and expand testing coverage for upgrades from version 4.19 to 4.20. The approach included adding new test jobs that validated upgrades across various AWS configurations, such as local zones, Bring-Your-Own subnets, and STS with KMS encryption, while enforcing minimal IAM permissions. These improvements reduced upgrade risk, accelerated validation cycles, and contributed to more stable and reliable OpenShift releases for AWS IPI environments through automated CI/CD processes.
