Worked on the kubearmor/KubeArmor repository to enhance CI versioning flexibility by updating the CI workflow’s regex, enabling support for optional pre-release suffixes in version tags. This adjustment allowed for more adaptable release tagging and streamlined pre-release workflows, reducing the need for manual intervention. The solution leveraged JavaScript, GitHub Actions, and advanced regex techniques to refine versioning strategies and improve CI/CD reliability. Throughout the process, maintained rigorous commit hygiene with signed-off commits to ensure traceability and compliance. The work resulted in clearer versioning, improved traceability, and smoother deployment processes, contributing to faster and more reliable release cycles for the project.
