
During November 2025, Preney developed a FastP EasyConfig for the ComputeCanada/easybuild-easyconfigs repository, enabling high-performance preprocessing of FastQ sequencing data in HPC environments. By implementing an easyconfig for fastp v1.0.1 with multithreading support, Preney addressed the need for scalable and efficient genomics workflows. The work leveraged C++ and Python, focusing on software packaging and bioinformatics to accelerate data readiness and throughput in large-scale pipelines. Preney’s contribution centered on configuration management and Git-based release processes, resulting in a robust solution that improved resource utilization for genomics teams. No critical bugs were addressed during this period, reflecting focused feature delivery.
