During November 2024, Preshita Agrawal focused on backend development and email processing within the Zimbra/zm-mailbox repository, addressing a complex bug in sender extraction from the 'From' header. She refactored the FilterUtil.getExtendedInfo method in Java to robustly parse sender addresses, even when headers contained extraneous characters or irregular formatting. To ensure reliability and prevent future regressions, she expanded unit testing coverage, validating both valid and malformed header formats. This work improved the accuracy of sender identification, supporting correct email threading and filtering, and reduced the risk of misrouting.
