Christophe Prudhomme enhanced CPR packaging within the Spack ecosystem by introducing build-time variants to improve portability and configurability. Working across the spack/spack and spack/spack-packages repositories, he implemented new options for position-independent code and shared library builds, updating CMake definitions and packaging logic to support these features. Using Python and leveraging expertise in build systems and package management, Christophe ensured that the new variants were consistently integrated and traceable across both repositories. This work enabled downstream projects to customize builds more flexibly, improved reproducibility, and aligned the CPR variant model with evolving requirements for deployment and cross-repository consistency.
