During January 2025, Pudong focused on backend development and observability for the openobserve/openobserve repository, addressing a trace data fidelity issue. Pudong fixed a bug in Rust that caused duplicate attributes in trace events and links by ensuring attribute maps were correctly initialized and populated for each event and link. This approach prevented redundant data assignments and improved the accuracy of trace data representation within the observability pipeline. The work enhanced data quality and reliability, supporting more robust downstream analytics and dashboards. Although the period involved no new features, Pudong’s targeted bug fix demonstrated careful attention to data integrity and system stability.
