Developed a privacy-focused feature for the Chatterino/chatterino2 repository, delivering default hiding of user notes in Streamer Mode to enhance streamer privacy during live broadcasts. The implementation provided a user-configurable override within the application settings, balancing privacy with user control. This end-to-end work encompassed design, C++ development, UI integration, comprehensive testing, and collaborative code review with cross-functional peers. The feature addressed potential disclosure of sensitive information by ensuring notes are hidden by default, aligning with product privacy goals. The approach established a foundation for future privacy enhancements while demonstrating proficiency in software engineering, C++, and user interface development.
