Worked on the tldraw/tldraw repository to deliver streaming optimization for string appends, focusing on reducing bandwidth and improving real-time updates for LLM-driven shape modifications. Developed a new ValueOpType.Stream operation in TypeScript, enabling efficient network diffs by transmitting only appended text rather than entire strings. Enhanced the diff and patch logic to support string streaming and introduced compatibility safeguards for legacy clients through capability gating. Expanded automated test coverage with 15 new cases, ensuring reliability across 313 tests in sync-core. The work emphasized AI integration, full stack development, and network optimization, resulting in more responsive and bandwidth-efficient collaborative editing.
