Worked on the pantsbuild/pants repository to enhance runtime dependency traversal for Python test workflows. Developed a feature that unwraps generic targets within runtime package dependencies, ensuring that PEX dependencies are correctly packaged and materialized during test execution. This approach improved the reliability of Python tests by reducing issues related to missing dependencies and enabled more scalable test composition across multiple binaries. Leveraged skills in Python development, dependency management, and testing frameworks to address challenges in dependency aggregation, resulting in more robust and maintainable test runs. The work focused on deepening the integration of runtime dependencies within the existing build system.
