Worked on optimizing the user interface layout for the experimental form stepper in the GovAlta/ui-components repository, focusing on improving the desktop experience. The approach involved reducing the minimum width of child elements from 180px to 108px within the ExperimentalFormStepper.svelte component, resulting in tighter spacing and enhanced readability for non-mobile users. This change addressed horizontal scrolling issues and streamlined user workflows on larger screens. The work was implemented using Svelte and CSS, with careful attention to code quality and maintainability. The update was delivered as a focused, low-risk feature, ensuring that the modification remained easy to review and revert if necessary.
