Worked on stabilizing the Linkerd CLI installation process in the linkerd/linkerd2 repository, focusing on improving reliability when using external certificate authorities. Addressed a critical bug by ensuring CLI override options were correctly applied to internal values before initializing issuer credentials, which prevented upgrade failures and reduced customer risk. Enhanced test coverage by adding unit tests for key functions and tracking test history in go-test.json, increasing regression confidence. Integrated testify assertions and updated the test harness to support more robust Go testing. Validated all changes through comprehensive integration tests, leveraging Go and Kubernetes expertise to ensure consistent install and upgrade workflows.
