Developed a systemd-based deployment workflow for the actualbudget/docs repository, enabling automated startup of the Actual server on Linux VPS environments. The work involved creating a custom systemd service file, automating the enable and start processes, and incorporating verification steps to ensure reliable self-hosted deployments. Documentation was updated in Markdown to provide clear instructions for configuring and managing the systemd unit, supporting users in reducing manual intervention during server setup. Leveraging skills in Linux system administration, systemd, and shell scripting, the solution improved deployment reliability and aligned with the project’s goal of simplifying self-hosted server management for end users.
