Worked on the whereby/sdk repository to modernize its core library and sample app, focusing on long-term stability and compatibility. Upgraded React and Expo SDK dependencies, ensuring the project aligned with the latest frameworks and reducing the risk of build or runtime issues from deprecated APIs. Migrated the sample app’s audio handling from expo-av to expo-audio, updating imports and permission management to match current standards. Employed TypeScript and YAML for configuration and implementation, leveraging skills in dependency management, Expo, and React Native. This proactive maintenance improved developer velocity and preserved the repository’s release cadence while reducing future maintenance overhead.
