Worked on stabilizing the Docker-based development environment for the civika-app repository, focusing on eliminating build failures and inconsistencies that affected onboarding and daily development. Addressed a critical bug in the Dockerfile by correcting the PHP extensions installation command, removed a deprecated startup script, and updated .gitignore to resolve permissions issues. These changes, implemented using Dockerfile and Shell scripting, improved build reproducibility and reduced technical debt, ensuring that new contributors can set up their environments reliably. The work also enhanced repository hygiene by preventing accidental tracking of environment-specific files, supporting smoother CI/CD handoffs and more consistent development workflows.
