Addressed a critical bug where sidebar widgets failed to save due to improper handling of integer keys in legacy JSON arrays, implementing a string-keyed boolean map to ensure correct storage and retrieval. Introduced defensive data validation by re-keying integer keys when legacy data used string keys, which prevented errors and maintained backward compatibility. Documented the root cause and solution within the codebase, supporting future maintenance and audits while enhancing data integrity during upgrades or migrations.
