Richard Gong developed a Modal-based Mirage Example for the mirage-project/mirage repository, enabling end-to-end Mirage runs on Modal’s cloud GPU infrastructure. He authored a Python script to automate the setup of a Modal application with a GPU image, handling dependency installation and execution of Mirage workflows. The work included comprehensive installation guidance and demonstrations of Mirage with and without optimizations, supporting reproducible cloud-based evaluation. Leveraging skills in Cloud Computing, DevOps, and Python, Richard focused on delivering a robust, well-documented feature that accelerates onboarding and strengthens deployment capabilities. No critical bugs were reported, reflecting careful engineering and attention to reproducibility.
