During January 2026, Anh Tran focused on stabilizing the Inserter UI within the WordPress/gutenberg repository, addressing a critical bug that affected the close button functionality in the Inserter Menu. By introducing the missing onClose prop to the React component, Anh eliminated a persistent console error and ensured the popup closed reliably, directly improving the editor’s user experience. This work, implemented in JavaScript and React, strengthened component contracts and enhanced maintainability by making prop handling explicit. Although no new features were shipped, Anh’s targeted fix reduced user friction during content creation and demonstrated thoughtful collaboration through responsive pull request feedback.
