During 2025-08, the team delivered significant secure SSH key management enhancements across multiple Yocto/OpenEmbedded layers, focusing on modularization, policy enforcement, and improved access control for lab/test environments. The work emphasizes maintainability, security, and operational flexibility while preserving build-time configuration fidelity.

March 2025 monthly summary for rdkcentral/rfc. Delivered Platform Services RFC Debugging Enablement to enhance observability and safe production debugging. The feature reads the RFC-based debug status from RFC properties and conditionally allows persistence file usage in production when debug services are enabled, contributing to faster diagnostics and safer production behavior. This work supports a secure unlock path for Platform Services in line with RDK-55340 and sets the stage for targeted live-debugging while reducing risk.

February 2025: Delivered debugging tooling and tests across two repositories to accelerate validation while preserving security. In rdkfwupdater, implemented Debug Services Enablement for Platform Services with isDebugServicesEnabled, RFC_DEBUGSRV macro, GetServURL enhancements, and extensive unit tests/refactors (RDK-55339). In tr69hostif, added SHORTS RFC Retrieval for RFC-based debugging with low risk. Achieved stronger test coverage, security hardening, and faster issue diagnosis across platform services.
