During April 2025, Robinson developed MFEM Make-based Build Target Integration for the LLNL/axom repository, focusing on enhancing build-system compatibility when MFEM is built with Make rather than CMake. He implemented logic in C++ and CMake to automatically create and configure the MFEM target, ensuring that include directories are properly added to Axom’s build target even in environments lacking CMake configuration files. This work addressed the challenge of manual configuration in non-CMake workflows, improving reliability and maintainability. Robinson’s contribution demonstrated depth in build systems engineering, with careful attention to interoperability and robustness, though the scope was limited to a single feature.
