Roman Bolgaryn developed and integrated AC power flow loss factor support in the NREL-Sienna/PowerSimulations.jl repository, enabling calculation and storage of loss factors as auxiliary variables during optimal power flow scenarios. He enhanced the flow evaluation process to include voltage angle and magnitude, ensuring these metrics are consistently written back for downstream analysis. Using Julia and YAML, Roman introduced a configuration-driven approach for safe feature rollout. In NREL-Sienna/PowerSystems.jl, he strengthened CI/CD pipelines by expanding automated cross-package testing, incorporating the PowerFlows package to improve integration reliability and reduce manual testing. His work demonstrated depth in API design and numerical simulation.
