During March 2026, rtgnx contributed to the tailscale/tailscale repository by implementing FreeBSD peer credential support within the actor.Username function, directly enhancing Taildrive compatibility. This work involved updating the ipn/ipnserver component to utilize FreeBSD peer credentials, thereby improving authentication mechanisms and ensuring secure, reliable workflows for FreeBSD deployments. By focusing on backend development with Go, rtgnx addressed cross-platform authentication challenges and advanced deployment parity for Taildrive-enabled environments.
