During November 2025, Ruoyu focused on backend development for the holoviz/panel repository, addressing a critical issue with notebook handling. By updating the notebook loading process to explicitly use UTF-8 encoding in Python, Ruoyu resolved persistent errors related to reading notebook metadata, which previously disrupted user workflows and increased support requests. This targeted bug fix improved the reliability of notebook integration within Panel, ensuring smoother user experiences for those relying on Jupyter notebooks.
