Worked on the openai/openai-agents-python repository to enhance the real-time event system by including tool arguments in both RealtimeToolStart and RealtimeToolEnd events. This backend development effort, implemented in Python, improved the observability and operational visibility of tool invocations, making debugging and monitoring more effective. The approach focused on event-driven architecture, ensuring that detailed information about tool usage was available for downstream systems. Comprehensive tests were updated to verify the correct propagation of tool arguments, and no regressions were observed in the test suite. The work demonstrated careful attention to reliability and maintainability within a focused, single-feature release.
