Worked on the louislam/uptime-kuma repository to enhance the reliability of Discord notifications by introducing server timezone awareness and accurate timestamping. Addressed the challenge of aligning alert times with regional contexts by integrating server timezone data directly into Discord webhook notifications, ensuring that on-call engineers receive incident alerts with precise local timing. Utilized Node.js and TypeScript to implement these features, focusing on backend development and robust API integration. The update included correcting timestamp retrieval logic and refining notification messages, resulting in clearer, more actionable alerts across time zones. This work improved notification accuracy and reduced ambiguity for distributed engineering teams.
