During November 2024, Saipori worked on streamlining the continuous integration pipeline for the Opetushallitus/aoe repository. They focused on removing the Docker-in-Docker service and simplifying the GitLab CI configuration, which involved eliminating before_script checks for Docker and Docker Compose versions. This technical approach, implemented using YAML and leveraging CI/CD best practices with Docker, resulted in a more maintainable and reliable pipeline. The changes reduced pipeline churn and provided faster feedback for developers. While the work addressed a single feature and did not involve bug fixes, it demonstrated a focused effort to improve infrastructure efficiency and developer experience within the project.
