Worked on the OpenFn/lightning repository to enhance the user account confirmation process using Elixir and the Phoenix framework. Developed a more robust confirmation flow by introducing pre-validation of users and refactoring token verification into a reusable plug, which streamlines future maintenance and feature additions. Improved the handling of scenarios where already-confirmed users revisit stale confirmation links, ensuring a smoother user experience. Expanded test coverage to validate the new logic and prevent regressions, aligning the confirmation process with related flows such as update/2. Focused on backend development, the work emphasized maintainability, reliability, and comprehensive testing within the Elixir ecosystem.
