During April 2025, Salama developed and delivered the Flex Mode Processing Option for Cost Savings in the zed-industries/codex repository. This feature introduced a toggle that allows users to select a more economical service tier when running models o3 and o4-mini, directly addressing the need to optimize runtime costs for customers. Salama implemented the solution using React and TypeScript, integrating the new option into the existing full stack architecture. The work focused on enhancing cost efficiency and scalability within the processing pipeline. No major bugs were reported or fixed during this period, reflecting a focused and well-scoped engineering effort.
