Worked on the openshift/hypershift repository to enhance observability and testing for Kubernetes-based deployments. Developed an end-to-end test in Go that verifies the Karpenter component logs its version during startup, addressing the need for reliable version tracking in distributed systems. This addition improves the ability to diagnose issues and supports safer rollout processes by ensuring version information is consistently captured in logs. The work involved integrating with Kubernetes and Karpenter, leveraging Go programming skills, and automating tests within the CI pipeline. No major bug fixes were recorded, with the primary focus on feature development and improving deployment transparency through robust testing.
