Worked on the espressif/qemu repository to implement PerfMonV2 support for AMD processors in KVM guest environments. This involved adding a new CPUID leaf, 0x80000022, to advertise the PerfMonV2 capability, allowing guest virtual machines to access advanced performance monitoring features when both KVM is enabled and the host supports PerfMonV2. The work required a strong understanding of CPU architecture, system programming, and virtualization concepts, and was carried out using C. By enabling this feature, the update improved the observability and profiling capabilities available to virtualized workloads running on compatible AMD hardware within QEMU-based environments.
