In April 2025, Sander Berendschot enhanced access control and integration capabilities for the global-121/121-platform repository. He developed two features focused on role-based access control, refining default roles to enforce least-privilege data export and introducing a kobo-validation-user role to support KoboToolbox integration. Using TypeScript and JavaScript, Sander implemented backend changes and configuration updates, ensuring that only authorized users could perform sensitive export actions and manage registration data. He validated these updates with targeted tests and environment examples, demonstrating a methodical approach to security governance and integration readiness. The work addressed core backend requirements without introducing bug fixes.
