During December 2025, S. Bhuiyan developed Protobuf serialization and deserialization with Buf Schema Registry integration for the redpanda-data/console repository. This work enabled standard Protobuf payload flows with Kafka header metadata, introducing new encoding types and client implementations to support BSR-based workflows. Using Go and TypeScript, Bhuiyan focused on backend development, expanding test coverage to ensure reliability and interoperability across services. The implementation improved cross-service data contracts and schema management, reducing schema drift and clarifying data expectations for downstream systems. The depth of the work is reflected in the robust serde integration and comprehensive validation of BSR-encoded Protobuf payloads.
