Worked on modernizing the build configuration for the libsdl-org/highway repository, focusing on enabling compatibility with Bazel 9. The approach involved updating C++ build rules, introducing rules_cc load statements, and upgrading core dependencies to newer versions. This work addressed potential build failures and improved the reliability of continuous integration pipelines by aligning the project with current Bazel workflows. Emphasizing build system configuration and dependency management, the changes aimed to future-proof the repository and streamline development. The updates enhanced security, performance, and maintainability, ensuring that the C++ codebase remains robust and adaptable to evolving build toolchains and project requirements.
