Over a two-month period, contributed to the nasa/openmct repository by developing two major features focused on data visualization and telemetry analytics. Built discrete event visualization within the Timeline, introducing new Vue.js components and plugins to display event details and metadata, and extended the timeline data model to support event-driven analysis. Later, delivered a derived telemetry feature enabling users to create custom telemetry streams with real-time updates and expression-based data manipulation. The work involved JavaScript, SCSS, and Vue, with attention to UI/UX design, testing, and code quality, establishing a foundation for advanced analytics and improved user interaction within Open MCT.
February 2026 (2026-02) — NASA Open MCT focused on delivering a robust Derived Telemetry Feature with Custom Expressions and Real-Time Data. Delivered a working prototype enabling users to derive new telemetry streams from existing data with custom expressions, real-time updates, and multiple output formats. Implemented core expression evaluation, persistence for derived telemetry configurations, and UI scaffolding to manage derived telemetry objects. UI enhancements include ObjectPathString.vue and updated icons to improve clarity. The work establishes a foundation for richer telemetry analytics, enabling on-the-fly data derivation and visualization, and contributed to stability and test coverage in the telemetry subsystem.

July 2025: OpenMCT development focused on enabling event-driven analysis by integrating discrete event visualization into the Timeline. Delivered a feature that adds plugins and UI components to display events, details, and metadata, and extended the timeline to natively support event data. The work is anchored by commit 76b22a7a4959c7038bdd4a300392deea1e91653c (Discrete Event Visualization in Timeline (#7967)).
