During August 2025, Zeid Selimovic enhanced the accessibility of the Datepicker component in the Frontify/fondue repository. He focused on improving keyboard navigation and programmatic focus management, ensuring that when the calendar opens, focus is set to the first header button for better usability. Zeid updated ARIA attributes to accurately reflect the dialog’s expanded state, supporting screen reader interpretation and aligning with accessibility standards. His work, implemented using React, TypeScript, and Cypress, addressed a tracked accessibility issue and was validated through targeted testing. These improvements strengthened compliance, improved the user experience for keyboard users, and reduced future accessibility risks.
