Worked on the eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.ui repository to enhance the stability and maintainability of the Section widget within the platform UI. Addressed a runtime crash by fixing a null pointer exception in the widget’s paint logic, ensuring that a safe fallback to the default foreground color is used when the title bar foreground is null. Refactored the paint logic to reduce code nesting and simplify color determination, making future enhancements more straightforward. Utilized Java for both bug fixing and code refactoring, with a focus on UI development and widget reliability. The work improved runtime stability and reduced future maintenance complexity.
