Senol Colak contributed to both the sapcc/helm-charts and rustfs/rustfs repositories, focusing on backend and cloud infrastructure enhancements. He delivered OpenStack Swift API integration for rustfs, enabling CRUD operations, Keystone authentication, and efficient bulk object handling using Rust, which improved interoperability and migration workflows for cloud storage. In sapcc/helm-charts, he implemented global OSD scrub auto-repair configuration and managed Helm chart versioning, using YAML and Helm to automate repair processes and reduce manual intervention in cluster maintenance. Senol’s work demonstrated depth in API development, configuration management, and DevOps, addressing operational reliability and maintainability across distributed cloud environments.
March 2026 monthly summary for rustfs/rustfs focused on delivering OpenStack Swift API integration to broaden cloud storage interoperability and improve operational efficiency.

July 2025: Delivered two key Helm chart updates for sapcc/helm-charts that enhance reliability and maintenance. Implemented Global OSD Scrub Auto-Repair Configuration by adding osd_scrub_auto_repair and osd_scrub_auto_repair_num_errors to values.yaml to enable automatic scrubbing repairs and configure error thresholds. Bumped Ceph Helm Chart version to 1.1.61 (application version remains 1.16.2) to ensure latest fixes and compatibility. These changes reduce manual intervention, lower risk of scrub-related failures, and improve upgrade safety across clusters. Technologies demonstrated include Helm chart design, YAML configuration, semantic versioning, and release hygiene.
